A report about holidays in Spain
I want to tell about my last holiday in Spain.
First some informations for you about the country: Spain belongs to Southern Europe, it’s a kingdom and the capital is Madrid. Spain has got 42 million inhabitants. Spanish is a worldwide language. Many tourists visit Spain and its famous coasts. In southern Spain we find the region of Andalucia. It’s situated as well as the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean on both sides of British Gibraltar. The history and landscape of Andalucia is very interesting. The Arabiens were here and Christoph Columbus started from here to discover America. We find in Andalucia many famous cities like Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Cadiz. The typical dance of Andalucia is ‘Flamenco’, and many people taste the ‘Sherry’. And there -at the Atlantic coast- we spend our holidays very often: It’s called ‘Costa de la Luz’.
And now I will give you a report on a nice experience of our holidays this year in autumn.
Three months ago, I’ve done a fantastic trip to a small village near the border of Portugal. It’s called El Rompido and it’s situated at the river Rio Tinto. This river flows here into the Atlantic. Our home was a nice hotel near the water. With a little ferry boat you can cross the river to the lovely beach. Everyday I went to the water and the marina at the Rio Tinto and watched the boats. They were driving away and coming back. One day I met a friendly person. His name was Pedro and he was 40 years old. He watched me the whole time from the café. His guess was, that I’m interested in boats. He asked me: ”Can you sail?” And my answer was: ”Yes, I love it.” “That’s good, because I’m the owner of a sailing school.” I was very lucky and I ran to my parents in the hotel and told them about it. They said: “Wait a moment, we’ll take our camera, perhaps it’s possible for you to sail.” We went to the sailing school and asked for a lesson. The next day at 9 o’clock I put my lifejacket on and get into one of Pedro’s new catamarans. At first I was a little bit frightened, but after six or seven minutes I did it very well. Pedro escorted me with his motorboat and gave instructions in English. From this time I had the opportunity to sail every day. My parents preferred to take a kayak.

On the last day of our holidays we changed our e-mail-adresses. Now I’m looking forward to our next stay at El Rompido in 2011.
